Pet Travel Tips

v  Advise us of any illness, injuries, medication, special diets or other requirement

v  Have your pet get used to the travel crate as much as possible.  You may include their favorite toy and comfortable pad

v  Keep cats indoors for at least 30 hours after arrival at their new home

v  Exercise a dog at least 1 hour before travel

v  Feed light meal within 4 hours of travel

v  Attach a tag with owner’s name, destination address, contact phone to a collar around the pet’s neck.

v  On the exterior of the travel crate, print clearly owner’s name, destination address, contact phone, pet’s description and call name, in order that the attendant can talk to your pet  This will make your pet feel less lonesome.  Mark the travel case “Live Animal”.  If your dog bites, indicate that too.

Most pets, including dogs, cats, and birds, can be brought into The Philippines with no quarantine period. The documents necessary at the time of import are a current health certificate (not more than 7 days old), a current vaccination card, and an import permit issued from the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI). This latter will be applied for by AIMS on behalf of the shipper.

Pets are subject to duty and tax at the rate of 30% of the original value of the pet (as determined by Philippine Customs). AIMS will work with the shipper to minimize the duty liability.
